CONCRETE PUMP DRIVER
We are looking for an experienced Concrete Pump Operator. The Driver will operate pumps of various concrete boom lengths, including trailer pump applications. The driver should also have knowledge of heavy, diesel-powered truck operations including knowledge of use, repair, and maintenance.
Duties
- Fills water tank before each project by placing rubber hose into water tank and filling after checking that all valves are shut.
- Take the most direct route to the job site to ensure on-time service.
- Safely drive concrete pump into the site and works with project Manager or project Supervisor to set up a pump in a safe manner.
- Upon completion, the operator will clean out pump systems in the plant in an environmentally responsible manner.
- Keep Plant Manager informed as to the status of the work
- The operator may be asked to work or clean on the pump, assist at the project site, or other related duties.
- Ability to operate concrete pumps safely and efficiently
- Understanding of pump mechanics, hydraulics, and troubleshooting common issues
- Skill in manoeuvring heavy machinery and positioning the pump correctly on site
- Ability to react quickly to pump blockages, pressure issues, or equipment faults
- Awareness of site hazards and ability to prevent accidents
- Clear communication with site supervisors, finishers, and truck drivers
- Reliability and punctuality—concrete work is time‑sensitive
- A strong concrete pump driver is skilled, safety‑focused, physically capable, mechanically knowledgeable, and a good communicator. The role is more than just driving—it’s about precision, coordination, and responsibility.
Qualifications and Experience
- Driving licence category C
- Must have proven 3+ years of experience operating various concrete pumps ranging from 39M – 60M
- Must be able to work well under pressure.
- Knowledge of construction practices
- Must have excellent communication skills
