Inventory & Fleet Support Assistant

The Inventory & Fleet Support Assistant is responsible for managing storekeeping activities, maintaining accurate stock records, and supporting the fleet team with vehicle maintenance updates and documentation. This role ensures that inventory levels are well-organized and that fleet maintenance schedules are up to date, contributing to the smooth and efficient operation of the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inventory & Storekeeping
  • Receive, inspect, and store goods, materials, and spare parts.
  • Maintain accurate stock records and update inventory management systems.
  • Conduct regular stock checks and report discrepancies.
  • Organise store layout to ensure easy access and safety compliance.
  • Prepare and issue materials or parts as required by various departments.
  • Track usage of inventory items and notify management of low stock levels.

Fleet Maintenance Support

  • Assist in maintaining and updating fleet maintenance schedules.
  • Record vehicle service history, repairs, inspections, and compliance documents.
  • Coordinate with mechanics, workshops, and service providers.
  • Ensure all truck maintenance files and logs are complete and up to date.
  • Support in tracking vehicle mileage, fuel usage, and service intervals.
  • Assist with scheduling regular maintenance and reporting any issues to the Fleet Manager.

Administrative Support

  • Maintain organised files both physical and digital for inventory and fleet documentation.
  • Strong communication with Purchase Department and Fleet Manager.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in storekeeping, warehousing, or inventory control (preferred).
  • Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance processes (advantageous).
  • Strong organisational and recordkeeping skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Computer literacy, including basic data entry and spreadsheet skills.
  • Ability to lift and move materials as required.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
