Concrete Lab Technician
The Concrete Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing laboratory and field tests on concrete, aggregates, and related construction materials to ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications. The role supports quality assurance processes by accurately recording, analysing, and reporting test results.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine and specialized tests on fresh and hardened concrete, including:
- Slump, air content, and temperature tests
- Compressive strength testing
- Density and yield calculations
- Prepare concrete samples, moulds, and curing environments in accordance with relevant standards.
- Perform testing on aggregates.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Record, analyse, and report test data in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ensure all testing procedures comply with applicable standards.
- Assist in troubleshooting material performance issues and support investigations.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety within the laboratory.
- Follow health and safety regulations, including proper handling of materials and equipment.
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience in a construction materials laboratory is an advantage.
- Familiarity with concrete and aggregate testing standards and procedures.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry materials (up to ~25 kg)
- Standing for extended periods
- Working in both laboratory and outdoor site environments
Working Conditions
- Combination of laboratory and field environments
- Exposure to dust, noise, and varying weather conditions (fieldwork)
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required
